Rocky McCorkle, known mononymously as Rocky, is the Founder & Creative Director at 1 of 1 Films, LLC. As an art director, designer, filmmaker and writer based in the vibrant city of San Francisco—a muse for three of his volumes of work—Rocky is redefining storytelling.
Rocky is pioneering a cinematic art studio where every frame of a film is an individual, limited edition art piece. By merging fine art with filmmaking, he transforms the ephemeral nature of cinema into tangible, one-of-a-kind physical pieces. Each frame is meticulously composed, captured in 24K resolution, and made available as a singular work of art, never to be reproduced.
His live-action art installations, films, and books are handcrafted using practical photographic techniques to capture physical actors, props, sets, and locations. Rocky’s artworks, designed for museum installations, are built to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
Rocky’s artwork has been written about internationally by Artweek, La Repubblica Newspaper in Italy, Lenscratch, Matter Magazine, PDN Magazine, Photo World China, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Washington Post. “You and Me on a Sunny Day” has won many awards, solo shows, and is in the permanent collections of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) and the Tweed Museum of Art.
